Matrix -Color Sync base tones

NEUTRAL- preblended meaning equal parts of neutral  which also is equal parts cool /warm pigment Natural real pigment count would be warm having more warm red/yellow- pheomelanins and less blues- eumelanin pigments 2/3ths warm 1/3rd cool and the Color Sync Neutral is 1/2warm and 1/2 cool and is considered cool, since cool always dominates.

ASH- preblended; would have neutral and blue/grey in various degrees, the darker levels have different levels of the Blue/ Grey the ratio, at a level 4/5 you have more blue than grey and more of that tone than neutral to counter the underlying pigment at that level which is red/red orange.
As you go up the levels, the blue/grey turns to grey, then to violet to soft violet in the higher level 8/9/10. Again in different ratios to compensate for the ULP.

GOLD- has a brown Base with the neutral warm/cool balance brown in the lower level up to pure gold at the lighter levels.

WARM NEUTRAL– has a brown Base with red & gold undertones, can be used to fill & Color at the same time- it is the perfect caramel Color.

COPPER GOLD– less Neutral Base -neutral and more red brown/blonde; red/brown/gold/copper pigments in various degress with strong copper/gold in the lower levels and light red copper blonde.

RED BROWN/BLONDE– less Neutral Base; gives a red brown in the lower levels with less neutral and red blonde in the lighter levels indifferent ratios.

RED COPPER– VERY little Neutral Base; very vibrant red copper at the lower levels and lighter levels it is more copper red.

RED VIOLET– VERY little Neutral Base; vibrant eggplant at the lower levels to pure violet blue pigment at the ligher levels.

The and Red, Copper, Gold are direct dyes that are pure toned.

This was a question that Chris had asked- are demi permanent dyes heavier than permanent?
Hey Cris, The dyes are really the same but because thay can ONLY deposit because the ammonia is NOT there, they then are heavier in depositing tones.
Color Sync & Attitudes dyes are the same as permanent dyes, they go into the cortex, versus semi permanents that just Color within the cuticle and get to the cortex but do not deposit in there, that’s why semi’s leave the hair within 4 weeks.
There are two types of Demi Permanents- the ones like Color Sync & Attitudes (indirect dyes) and then there are ones that have 2 dyes, one a permanent dye(indirect dye) & one that is a true semi permanent (direct dyes) and that type (direct dye) doesn’t last very long in the hair, about 4 weeks.
So direct dyes go into the hair and act like a stain versus indirect dyes that go in and stay in.

Here’s some formulas that you use when you are doing highlights and want to then put Color Sync in between the foils.
In these formulas, I’ll give the highlight Colors and then what Color Sync Base would look good around the foils.

Dark levels- 1 thru 4 – VIRGIN HAIR
Apply the foils, then after 10 minutes, apply the Color Sync and time for 20 mins.
Highlight- Hi-tones Red + 30vol.
Highlight – Light Reactions + 20vol.
BaseColor Sync 5WN- take Lighteners foils out FIRST-spray off with water- then mush the Color Sync into them (Hi-tones foils are still in place) tone for the 10 minutes or less, then rinse out the Color Sync with low water pressure and then take out the Hi-tones.
This gives a warm Base Color with honey & red tones, you can subsitute the Hi-tones Gold for the Light Reactions.

Levels 1 thru 4 – Color Treated Hair:
Vlight + 20vol
Vlight + 40vol
BaseColor Sync 4G
Foil the two lighteners in & time for 10 minutes and then apply Base Color, spray foils off after 10 minutes- BUT ONLY THE FOILS! Mush the hair that was in the foils into the Color Sync, time for 10 minutes and take off.
This gives a golden hue to the Base hair and the foils look like cinnamon & honey

Levels 4 thru 6 – VIRGIN HAIR
Highlight- Ash Ash Hi-tones + 30vol.
Highlights Neutral Hi-tones + 30vol.
Base Color Sync 6N
After applying foils, place client under dryer for 10 minutes, cool down for 5 and then apply the Base Color for 10 to 20 minutes.
Creates cool neutral Base with warm honey highlights.

Levels 4 thru 6 – Color Treated
Light Reactions or Light Exposure + 30vol.
BaseColor Sync 8WN + 8RC = parts

Creates an auburn Base with strawberry blonde highlights.

Levels 7 to 8- VIRGIN HAIR
Highlight- UL-A + Double 40vol.
Highlight 8AA + 30vol.
Base Color Sync 8G
Creates warm honey Base with golden apricot & buttery highlights. (this is good for folks that have freckles or that peaches & cream look)

Levels 7 to 8 – Color Treated

Base Color Sync 8WN + 10CG + Copper Booster
Apply foils, wait 15 minutes and apply the Color Sync Base Color, process for 15 minutes then take out & spray the foils, mush into the Color for 5 minutes.
Creates strawberry Base with blonde highlights.
