Sebaceous Gland

  Sebaceous Gland

This is a picture of the little gland itself, it feeds oil to our largest organ –  the skin.
Sebum is the result that is spread on our skin, it’s a combination of oil, fatty oils, sweat and an antibacterial agent that keeps us healthy by not letting any bad germs get thru the skin.

Have you ever been in a swimming pool too long and see that you’ve wrinkled up, that’s because your Acid Mantle- the sebum  skin protector- has been washed away. Time to get out of the water!!!
It will take 7 hours to get back onto the skin!
