Maxwell began his hairdressing career over 20 years ago within the Toni & Guy USA salon network and quickly became known for his precision and quality, eventually earning the position of Top Technician.
From there he worked with several major haircolor manufacturers such as It&ly Hairfashion , Matrix/Logics and L’Oreal Professionnel–traveling the United States as a haircolor artist and educator, working alongside industry luminaries like Nicholas French, Beth Minardi, Nancy Braun and Vivienne Mackinder.
In 2005 he partnered with the Aveda Institutes Florida as an Education Development Specialist, developing and implementing the educational curriculum for the prestigious Aveda Institute Master’s Studio program as well as working as part of the Educational Team for the Aveda Advanced Academy in Florida.
In 2015 Maxwell decided to branch out on a different career path and create his own salon culture.
He helped to establish A+M Beauty Lounge, where he worked for a number of years behind the chair servicing a diverse clientele and helping to promote and build a salon brand and culture.
In 2016 with the rise of the Independent Education movement Maxwell began educating with a small group of colleagues purely technical and non-branded education and has been continually sharing his passion for hairdressing with his industry peers.
In March of 2019 Max relocated to Boston to work as Director of Education for Good Hair Co. and Good Hair Education.
Most recently, in February 2020 Max has partnered with Beth Minardi as her Director of Education helping to develop and deliver exceptional haircolor educational programs, helping hairdressers across the nation “dream in color”.
